The powerful health benefits of the acai berry have become world renown. These berries are great mixed into a smoothie recipe with some of your other favorite fruits. Acai smoothies are the perfect way to start your day and with these recipes you can make them in your own kitchen. These acai recipes can be switched up with different fruits to suit individual tastes.
The Acai Strawberry Banana Smoothie
1 cup of unsweetened apple juice (organic is best)
½ cup of frozen unsweetened acai berries. (usually ½ cup is one packet)
8 fresh strawberries-unsweetened frozen strawberries can be used
1 medium banana
Optional: 1 scoop of Whey Powder Protein
Mix all ingredients in the blender for 1 minute or until smooth. Drink immediately for best flavor.
Acai Berry Smoothie
1 ¼ cup of almond milk or vanilla soymilk(plain soymilk works well too)
¾ cup of unsweetened orange juice from a carton
¾ cup of acai juice
1 large mango peeled and deseeded, cut into small pieces
1 cup of fresh blueberries, unsweetened frozen blueberries can be used
Optional: 1 medium banana
Mix all ingredients in the blender until smooth, small chunks are normal.
Powdered Acai Berry Smoothie
½ cup of blueberries fresh or frozen
½ cup of strawberries fresh or frozen
1 cup of vanilla ice cream (strawberry or other flavors of ice cream can be substituted)
2 500 milligram acai berry capsules
Add berries and ice cream to blender. Mix until smooth. Open the capsules and pour the powder into the smoothie mixture, mix for another 30 seconds and serve chilled.
Mango Acai Smoothie
2 packs unsweetened acai pulp, thawed
1 medium banana
1 cup frozen unsweetened blueberries
1 cup mango juice
1 tablespoon agave nectar
Mix all ingredients in a blender, mix on high for approximately 1 minute.
Acai Berry Juice Smoothie
8 ounces of cold acai berry juice
8 whole fresh strawberries or 1 cup frozen unsweetened strawberries
¼ cup plain yogurt
¼ cup soy milk (regular milk can be substituted)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix all ingredients in the blender until smooth. This mixture can be refrigerated for several hours without losing quality.
Chocolate Acai Berry Smoothie
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries
1 cup acai berry juice
½ cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
1 tablespoon unsweetened dark chocolate cocoa powder
Mix all ingredients in the blender until smooth. Serve chilled for best taste.
